Where to run track laps in San Antonio

San Antonio shares South Texas's long, hot summers, so track running here means early mornings and shaded or lit evening ovals for a good chunk of the year. The metro's park and school tracks are the backbone; the mild winters open up comfortable midday running that the summer never allows.

What local runners say

We’ve been looking for a track that was open to the public for a while then we randomly heard about Wheatley from urbanrunclubsa. We’re so glad we found it and are able to utilize the track. I hope the hours in the future will be extended a bit later during the weekday. Always clean.

Good location, soccer on one side, track and field and football practice field in the other side. Plenty of seating, hood concessions. Lots of parking

…Plenty of track for walking/running and equipment to use that utilizes your own body weight for resistance. 1/2 mile, 3/4 mile and 1 mile tracks will give you pretty much all you need.
